1 YEAR OF STITCHES - DAY 1

Happy New Year!
2017 is the year to Fear Less.  It's also the year of embroidery.  Thanks to Sara Barnes of Brown Paper Bag, women all over the world are committing to making a stitch a day for 365 days all while documenting and sharing their efforts on social media .  Hannah Claire Somerville's project, 1 Year of Stitches, is the original inspiration for this endeavor.  The concept is exactly what it sounds like:  Each day of the year, at least one stitch is added onto a single hoop of fabric.  Over the course of the year, the piece grows and evolves.  It becomes an intimate reflection of your days.  What is a stitch all on its own?  Not much.  A heartbeat, maybe. But combined in a multitude, they're a life force.  They're a representation of the spirit and energy of the maker.  Each and every day paused and captured in fiber?  I'm all in.
