I chose a secondhand piece of thick, mossy green felt to embroider on. I can't remember exactly where it came from, but I've always cherished it and known it was going to be used for something special. The first thing I did was couch hand-dyed and spun yarn from Fiddlesticks Fiber around the edge of my 13" hoop. I then began a second row of couching.
