EMPTY BOWLS 2011

Here is one of the 26 bowls I glazed for an upcoming Empty Bowls event. Empty Bowls is a grassroots movement to help end hunger. Our local event will support the Bloomsburg Food Cupboard.

The backgrounds are glazed in a dark blue with light blue polka dots.

The sunflowers are traditional colors: orange, yellow, & brown with green leaves.

The black glaze really makes the designs come to life. I am very anxious to see how they are transformed once they are fired in the kiln.

26 Mika's. The underside of each bowl is signed and dated. You can get your bowl at Bloomsburg University's Empty Bowls event April 3, 2011. For more information visit: http://departments.bloom.edu/solve/emptybowls.html or http://emptybowls.net
