FRIGID FEBRUARY

Here's some of what the legions of local art lovers would have seen had they braved the frigid February cold to "walk the Artwalk". Many thanks to those who did visit us! To draw out the masses, there's always May, August, and October.

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

"Love is profoundly tender affection, the art of selfless devotion, a gentle embrace, an all-consuming feeling, a happy end to all your searches, and miracles hidden in subtle details." The Valentine's bottle of lotion goes on to read, "This aroma blends the earthy essence of rich cocoa beans with fresh raspberries to evoke the sweetness of adoration. Infinitely loving, naturally pure." Wow, my baby got me the good stuff! Love on!

LOOMING DEADLINES

Yikes! This is what I look like with 3 fast approaching deadlines.

TREASURE MAP

Two art quilts, one by Susan Shie and another by Jane Burch Cochran, were the original sources of inspiration for me as a fiber artist. Something about them drew me in and swallowed me up. I recently came across this piece by Susan featuring President Obama. My favorite part is the writing inside the ears...Barack Hussein Obama. Love it. See more of her work featuring the new president at:

Susan's "Treasure Map" art quilt will also be included in an exhibit honoring Obama. "President Obama: A Celebration in Art Quilts" runs February 9 - March 5, 2009 at Montgomery College in Silver Spring, Maryland.

WICKED WAY

I adore Ben Taylor. Love his voice and presence, the acoustic picking. The way he's always barefoot, the tattoos, the tousled hair. Love the whole package. The blunt humor in "Wicked Way" is pretty irresistible too.
