DINNER AND A MOVIE

This weekend, we had my husband's parents over for dinner, a movie, and to gawk at all the Christmas splendor at our place. It was a good time, but next time...bigger cheese ball...it's the best!

THE "STORM AT SEA" HAS PASSED

The wonderful lady for whom I made the "storm at sea" collage mania quilt, lost her battle with cancer this last Tuesday, December 23, 2008. You will be missed, Alberta!

SO THIS IS CHRISTMAS

"Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has many."
-Charles Dickens
I realize that I am completely insane, but I put up 12 Christmas trees around the house this year including a beautiful "wedding tree" in the bedroom. It has a timer on the lights so I can fall asleep with the tree lit. Naturally, I used mostly homemade ornies...except on this tree. It's the first year I've tried one like this and it is surprisingly my favorite. There's no theme, just stuff. There are all kinds of ornaments here. Some things I've been collecting and hoarding forever and in some cases, they're not even intended to be ornaments. Maybe next year, I'll forgo the rest of the fuss, and just gussy up this guy!

"FRAISES DE MAMAN"

"fraises de maman" is the third piece created for 2009's Collage Mania. This one was made in honor of my mom who has experienced skin cancer. I love, love my mom! And I adore my mama's strawberry pie!

STORM AT SEA

This is the second piece I've created for 2009's Collage Mania. It was made in honor of a very special lady who is currently battling cancer. This piece is based on the "storm at sea" quilt pattern. I suspect this woman is her family's stone, their rock. Other than my own mother, I have never met a stronger, more determined woman. I pray her strength of spirit carries her as she weathers this storm.

WINTERFEST

A glimpse of the Winterfest set-up.

BUCKETS OF BUTTONS

Definitely the way into this girl's heart...buckets of buttons! I love them all!
